Harbour Home Inspections service all of the North Shore and West Auckland as well as up to Orewa and Whangaparaoa, across to Helensville, and everywhere in between. We are a local owner operated independent North Shore company and are not a franchise. Harbour Home Inspections are very fortunate to have a highly skilled experienced senior inspector, Mark Hadfield. Mark is the only person in the company, and conducts all of the roles from the bookings, inspections, and report writing and provides the follow up customer service.
Mark was born and bred on the North Shore where he still resides. Mark headed straight to the Army after leaving Northcote College, and was mainly based at the Army Training Group in Waiouru, where he graduated to the New Zealand Army Engineers. In 1986 after Mark's time in the NZDF Mark returned to the North Shore and civilian life. As a trade qualified carpenter Mark worked on new homes and residential alteration all over the North Shore. Mark continued to build until 2002 when he developed Harbour Home Inspections. Mark is also an active unpaid volunteer whenever his skill set is required. In the days immediately after both Christchurch earthquakes Mark was a Team Leader conducting Rapid Safety Evaluations of damaged houses on behalf of NZ Civil Defence.
Outside work Mark enjoys supporting Northcote Rugby and Rugby League (Mark's former clubs), plus going fishing, campervaning and traveling.
Since Mark set up Harbour Home Inspections in 2002. Mark has conducted over 5 thousand inspections, mostly on the North Shore and north of the bridge. Mark is one of the most skill and experience inspectors remaining in the industry with over 30 years experience. Mark keeps involved in the industry whenever possible and has even been asked to peer review the BRANZ NZS:4306 Residential Property Inspection Bulletin.
Harbour Home Inspections has developed their builders reports to be a step up from the mediocre reports typical of the sector. Harbour Home Inspections are unique in the industry as they will only produces one quality fully written non-tick box report each day, which is always sent out that evening. They will not produce basic difficult to understand tick box style reports. Harbour Home Inspections will not on sell reports or work contrary to the best wishes of their clients. Harbour Home Inspections reports are recognised by lawyers and banks who often recommend Mark and Harbour Home Inspections directly to their clients.
